India has the most ancient tradition in theatre which goes back to 5,000 years ago. The earliest theatre form of India can be traced back to the Sanskrit theatre. Across centuries, many forms of Indian theatre abound. They can be broadly classified into six different genres: Classical Indian Dance Drama, Traditional Indian Theatre, Indian Folk Theatre, Indian Puppet Theatre, Modern Indian Theatre and Indian Street Theatre.

for interested students to hone their skills in acting, play-writing and directing, we have staged 150 skits and 2 full length dramas, namely Bon Voyage and Kanchana Seetha, since 2008.


Rules & Regulations


Spot Photography

Max event duration : 2 hours

Instructions & Judging Criteria :

1. Participants should have their own digital camera or Mobile phone.

2. Pictures clicked with a mobile phone or a DSLR cam where more than one participant is disqualified.

3. Theme: Will be announced one hour before at the registration desk

4. The participant will have to submit his/her best 2 pictures (theme based) on or before the stipulated time at the registration desk.

5. Submissions will not be accepted once the deadline lapses.

6. Photos submitted Images should be no larger than 4MB. Photos must be in JPEG format.

7. You are required to provide a unique title & description for each image submitted.

8. All submitted photos must contain the original EXIF metadata information. However, there must be no border(s), logo(s), copyright marks, identifying marks, or any other visible references and/or marks on the image.

9. Basic editing, including color enhancement, the use of filters, and cropping of the Photo(s) is acceptable, provided any such editing does not affect the authenticity and/or genuineness of the Photo(s).

10. Advanced editing is used to create illusions, deceptions, and/or manipulations, and the adding and removing of significant elements within the frame is prohibited.

11. Objectionable pictures portraying nudity, pictures with the potential threat to communal harmony, OR pictures outraging the modesty of women or children shall be considered for disqualification without any intimation to the participants.

Creativity: 50%, Thematic photographs - 50%




Short Film Making - Krishna Charith

Max event duration : 6 minutes

Instructions :

1.Films may be in any language or have no dialogue at all. Non-English language films should have subtitles.

2.. Ensure that all content in your film (including footage, music, images, props, etc.) is your own. If you include any copyrighted or trademarked content, you must be able to provide written permission for its use. Entries containing any unauthorized content will be disqualified.

3.Religious-political-gender abuse through films without proper justification will not be encouraged. If any such content is noticed judges can disqualify the films from the competition.

4.All entries must be submitted in MP4 format (including uploading of the short film and 2 posters) in one drive on or before 13 September 2023, 6 pm. They must share the file to atkc23@cb.amrita.edu

5.Film could be shot on any device (mobile or professional camera) not compromising on the HD quality.

Judging Criteria :

Direction (20%), Script (20%), Camera & creativity (20%), acting (20%), Overall coordination (10%)

All entrants should adhere to the following guidelines:

Theme: Should be based on any sloka or messages from Bhagavad Geetha in the contemporary context. Your short film should have a story to say and a message to share with the audience which could make them change in a positive way. For any queries contact: atkc23@cb.amrita.edu
